Being a lazy cook (although I LOVE cooking), my family’s requests for certain dishes are usually met by loud groans. This is usually the case with onion rings. But the hard work involved with these is not the only reason why I groan.

The problem is that I have to cook at least 2 onions, as I am unable to stop eating for as long as I fry and these things are oily and fattening and so very delicious.

This is actually a spin on an old favorite. It started with a thought that entered my little Bratzilla’s mind and I expanded on it – hence, it was named after her.

This is how it’s done.

Peel two onions and slice them thinly and evenly. Push the outer rings out, keeping the little inner circles one side to saute and add to your burgers / steak rolls.

Pour some all purpose white flour over the bigger rings.

Now mix 2 eggs, half a cup of milk, half a cup of flower and a packet of instant cheese sauce (the one where you “just add boiling water”) and a teaspoon of baking powder until smooth.

Heat some oil in a saucepan.

When it is hot, take an onion ring out of the flour, dip it in the batter and drop into the oil.

Cook until it is golden brown before removing it.

Then eat it quickly before the family finds out    Enjoy!
