Make Geniune Fast Food at Home

fast food

Real good fast food!

Eat genuine fast food  as much as you want to for less than you can imagine

Hi, this is Wade. If my wife finds out that I hijacked her site, she’ll take this post down. So read this while you can!

What do Starbucks, Pizza Hut, KFC (Kentucky Fried Chicken),  McDonalds, Boston Market and many other similar places have in common?

Answer: They all make tasty fast-foods that we can’t all afford to eat as regularly as we’d like to. (Also, according to the media, they don’t all use the healthiest preparation methods…)

This is not the restaurant’s fault. Times are tough for them too. Have you totaled up how much you spend in an average year on eating out? Maybe you don’t eat out anymore because it is simply too expensive? How would you like to eat genuine fast food anytime you want to for the price of the ingredients?

Home made take-out food is different to genuine fast food

While many of our wives try to compensate by making fast food at home, let’s be honest, nobody makes KFC like KFC does. How about McDonalds, no one can replicate a McDonald burger even if their life depended on it. Other people have created recipe books. However, they simply do not create the same taste sensation.

What if you could have access to your favorite genuine fast food on tap?

Imagine having access to all your favorite genuine fast food or take-out food whenever you want it? The only cost is what you pay for the ingredients. Imagine the savings you would make. No more spending money on gas to drive to Pizza Hut, you can have it right here, right now! Debbie’s Crispy, Cheesy Onion Rings

onion rings

Debbie's delicious crispy, cheesy onion rings

Being a lazy cook (although I LOVE cooking), my family’s requests for certain dishes are usually met by loud groans. This is usually the case with onion rings. But the hard work involved with these is not the only reason why I groan.

The problem is that I have to cook at least 2 onions, as I am unable to stop eating for as long as I fry and these things are oily and fattening and so very delicious.

This is actually a spin on an old favorite. It started with a thought that entered my little Bratzilla’s mind and I expanded on it – hence, it was named after her.

This is how it’s done.

Peel two onions and slice them thinly and evenly. Push the outer rings out, keeping the little inner circles one side to saute and add to your burgers / steak rolls.

Pour some all purpose white flour over the bigger rings.

Now mix 2 eggs, half a cup of milk, half a cup of flower and a packet of instant cheese sauce (the one where you “just add boiling water”) and a teaspoon of baking powder until smooth.

Heat some oil in a saucepan.

When it is hot, take an onion ring out of the flour, dip it in the batter and drop into the oil.

Cook until it is golden brown before removing it.

Then eat it quickly before the family finds out    Enjoy!

Nachos Con Polo (like the restaurants make it)

Nachos

My homemade nachos recipe hit the right notes with the whole family.

A perfect Friday night dinner, it has a great take-out feel with the benefits of a great home-made meal. It also does not dirty too many dishes.

This recipe can be adjusted for different tastes, but we did Nachos con Polo, which has chunks of chicken breast.

You will need:

1 pack of corn chips (Doritos – the cheesier the better)

1 tub of sour cream (or use lemon juice & double cream)

1 can of chopped Italian tomato & onion (warm up in microwave)

2 chicken breast fillets

Fresh chillies to taste

Lots of cheddar and mozzarella cheese (grated and mixed)

How to make it:

1. Chop the chicken breasts into small cubes and stir fry them in a dash of olive oil. Add garlic, salt and spices to flavor.

2. Place the chips into two large oven-proof plates, topped with the cooked chicken.

3.  Pour the tomato & onion over.

4.  Pour the sour cream  over the other ingredients in the plates. Do not remove chunky bits, they add flavor!

5.  Now sprinkle the grated cheddar and mozzarella mix over and place under the grill  in the oven until the cheese is melted and starts to brown on top.

Be careful not to overdo the baking. Remember that all the ingredients are cooked and warm and the objective is just for the cheese to melt.

Variations:

Use ground beef chili or leave the meat out completely.

Substitute the sour cream with creamed cheese

Enjoy!
